Art For OWL
Content warning: state violence.
Manos anónimas is a series of paintings by Argentine painter, draftsman and printmaker, Carlos Alonso. The piece is part of a series titled “Manos Aanónimas” that attempt to highlight the horror unleashed by state terrorism in Argentina during the military dictatorship. Manos anónimas reflects the illegal ransacking of Argentine homes carried out by security forces. We appreciate featuring this artist to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month and Latin American artists who use their art to tell stories, especially stories that might otherwise be suppressed or forgotten.
